Nina Eba is presented as part of Voyage en Ukraine, the Ukraine Season in France
Festival Parallèle takes over the Petit Cab to celebrate emerging artists with two live performances and two DJ sets to warm us up in the heart of winter! Nina Eba will open the night with a hybrid live show blending club music and alternative R&B; Kuwaiti singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Etaf will weave acoustic music with traditional Khaleej rhythms; DouceSœur will immerse us in a world combining 2000s manga culture and queer identity; and to close the night, Mystique will deliver a set mixing popular melodies, electro hybrids and alternative rap.
Biographies
Nina Eba is the solo project of Ukrainian singer, producer, DJ, and sound designer Alina Volkova, now based in Austria. Her music blends alternative R&B and art pop with experimental electronic and bass influences. Shaped by years of DJing and sound design, Nina Eba moves between club energy and introspective songwriting, creating emotionally charged music that resists strict genre boundaries. In 2022, she released the EP Ukraine Immortal on the New Zealand label The Big Fresh Collective, merging delicate vocals with jungle and juke elements. Her debut multi-genre mini-album, MORPHO, was released in 2024, accompanied by a remix compilation bringing together producers from Ukraine, the UK, New Zealand, and Japan.
Etaf is a Kuwaiti singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Genre defying and unapologetically iconic, Etaf has carved out a distinct musical identity that is daring and innovative. Drawing on traditional Khaleeji sounds and rhythms, they seamlessly integrate rich Arabic scales, beats and melodies into contemporary music, creating a soundscape that is both familiar and refreshingly new.
DouceSœur is a Caribbean siren—half high fem, half “tonton.” A lifelong digger, her sets are influenced by everything around her. Her universe is a bubbling mix of her roots from 972 to 92, early-2000s manga culture, and her queer identity. In each of her mixes, she foregrounds Afro-descendant women and queer people. Her recipe for a great night: releasing everyday pressure through back-it-up moves and twerking, and ending with a nostalgic classic of zouk, salsa, or dombolo. A set as scorching as the Caribbean Sea. From neoperreo to bailerave, DouceSœur sweeps you into the currents of a hypnotic mix.
Mystique is a Marseille-based artist whose energy and commitment resonate far beyond the dancefloor. A resident on Rinse France, she ignites clubs, festivals, and web radios while championing the sound system and festive cultures of the diasporas. Co-creator of the collective @sty_x and DJ with @cabarai_marseille, she works to create spaces where artists and audiences can gather, fully exist, and assert their own narratives. Blending popular melodies, electronic hybridities, and nods to alternative rap scenes, her sets feel like compressed .zip files of references—raw, sensitive, homemade, connected to both networks and roots. For her, music is more than a tool: it is a space of expression where plural identities and affective archives intertwine. She advocates for DIY forms of emancipation, where memory, presence, and sharing become acts of power.
