This project is part of the Professionalisation Cycle for a Sustainable Cultural Sector – Young Choreographers from the South, led by Parallèle, with the support of the Cultures et Création programme of the Fondation de France and sponsorship from Caisse des Dépôts
In Luck!, Amit Noy explores how the nation-state — specifically the colonial state — takes shape through traditional dances performed collectively. By subverting these dances, he uncovers a phenomenological material in which it becomes possible to trace actions, affective impulses, and the very character of this state, acting as both continuous overseer and agent of violence.
With this body placed at the center of a four-sided stage, stripped of lighting and sound, the question posed here is: if a gesture is a terrain for intergenerational memory, can we trace the choreography of consciousness through dance?
