Trying to regain a sense of orientation amid chaos, Anat Bosak takes an interest in the alchemical process that drives the transformation of matter, all the way to its metamorphosis.
“What you change changes you. The matter you act upon acts upon you.
That’s what they said, and since I am nothing but a fool (DONKEY), I tried.
The process of transforming metal into gold serves as an analogy for the transformation of the soul toward illumination. Fortunately, the process is clear.
Matter simply has to pass through the following stages:
clarification
congelation
fixation
separation
digestion
distillation
purification
decomposition
combustion
fermentation
dissolution
multiplication”
Biography
nat Bosak is a choreographer and scenographer. She develops her stage language through the very elements that constitute a performance: environment, light, the temperature of the space—elements whose behavior and movement influence those of the performers, and vice versa. Her work is rooted in an approach to storytelling that goes beyond words, giving form to what escapes language, what slips between languages, worlds, and the cracks in our perception of reality. She began her artistic journey at the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem, before earning a Master’s degree in Research and Choreography (exerce, ICI–CCN/UPVM) in Montpellier in 2021. She has presented her recent works at various festivals and venues, including the Performance Conference, La Vignette (Montpellier), and the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers. She is currently working on DOPA, a project developed with artist Anne Lise Le Gac. Anat Bosak is also a co-founder of the LAB-L platform, alongside choreographers Mariana Viana, Julia B. Laperrière, and Marion Storm. She regularly collaborates with other artists such as Laura Kirshenbaum, Luara Raio Learth, and Mariana Viana, among others.
