Following a cross-residency, Noria Kaouadji, finalist of the Art-O-Rama 2024 show-room, and Romain Ravera, exhibited as part of La Relève 7, present Ersatz on the Eden Rock.

Noria Kaouadji is a photographic artist based in Marseille. Her contemplative and experimental work brings into tension notions of surface and depth through a variety of forms that explore off-frame space, abstraction, and materiality. A graduate of the Villa Arson in 2023, Romain Ravera builds his entire visual vocabulary from lived objects, taken from urban peripheries, industrial zones, wastelands, and demolition sites.
Together, they explore the territory of Port-de-Bouc and its landscapes, and present within the art center an exhibition combining photography and installation. These works resonate with one another, highlighting the two artists’ perspectives on their place of residence.

La Relève, la suite aims to strengthen support for and the professional development of emerging artists, as well as their engagement with the local territory.
Talent’Arts is an exhibition cycle dedicated to emerging contemporary creation, developed in partnership with professional art schools in the region.

Biographie

Noria Kaouadji

Born in 1996, Noria Kaouadji is a photographic artist based in Marseille. Her contemplative and experimental practice brings into tension notions of surface and depth through a variety of forms that explore off-frame space, abstraction, and materiality. She approaches exhibition spaces as extensions of the photographic experience, incorporating diverse media and spatial interventions into her presentations.

Romain Ravera

A graduate of the Villa Arson (Nice) in 2023, Romain Ravera transforms the remnants of our industrial zones into poetic works. He collects forgotten objects from urban margins to create installations that combine sculpture, salvaged materials, and raw aesthetics. He has established his studio in the industrial zone of Contes—near Nice, where he is originally from—an environment from which he draws both resources and aesthetic inspiration. The 27-year-old artist constructs his entire visual vocabulary from lived objects, taken from urban peripheries, industrial areas, wastelands, and demolition sites, as if these places still allowed him to observe the ruins of our contemporary societies.
